PackagingDesign

Label, pouch, sleeve or wrapper — drawn on the real dieline, so what you approve on screen is what fits the product on the shelf.

Built on your dieline Barcode checked Statutory panel space

A pouch, flat

Brand Top seal — nothing important in here Bottom gusset — folds under, mostly unseen Gusset Front panel Gusset

A pack is not a rectangle. Roughly a fifth of a stand-up pouch disappears into the top seal and the bottom gusset, and the side gussets fold inwards where nobody reads them.

Design it as a flat rectangle and the logo ends up crushed under a sealing jaw. Design it on the dieline and every element lands on a face the shopper can actually see.

What youget

Artwork the converter can go to plate with.

  • Artwork built on the dieline your converter supplies, or one we draw
  • Front, back and side panels laid out for how each is actually seen
  • Ingredients, nutrition and statutory panels set legibly, not shrunk to fit
  • Barcode placed at a size that scans, with its quiet zone protected
  • Variants for every flavour, weight and SKU in the range
  • A flat print file and a 3D mockup to show the rest of your team
  • Spot colours called out where the brand needs an exact match
  • Separated, print-ready files in the converter’s format

What a pack has to carry

Space gets reserved for these before the design starts.

  • The mandatory declarationsName and address of the manufacturer or packer, net quantity, retail sale price inclusive of all taxes, consumer care details, month and year of manufacture, and a batch or lot number.
  • The veg or non-veg markA green filled circle inside a green square for vegetarian; a brown filled triangle inside a brown square for non-vegetarian. It goes on the principal display panel, close to the brand name, and it has a minimum size.
  • FSSAI logo and licence numberPrinted together on the label for food products, legible without a magnifier.
  • A barcode that scansDo not shrink it below about 80 % magnification, and keep the light margin clear on both sides. A barcode that fails at the counter costs you the sale, not the printer.
  • Seals, gussets and keep-awaysAnything inside a seal area gets crushed by the sealing jaw. The logo, the price and the barcode all stay clear of it.

How a pack gets designed

01

Dieline

We start from the converter’s die, so every panel is the real size and the folds land where the machine will put them.

02

Hierarchy

What a shopper reads from four feet away, from one foot, and once it is in their hand. In that order.

03

Panels

Front, back and sides laid out, with the statutory content set properly inside the space it needs.

04

Separations

Spot colours specified, keep-aways checked, files delivered the way the converter asked for them.

Questionswe get asked

Tell us the pack type and the size and we will draw one to standard dimensions. Get your converter to confirm it before we build artwork on top, though — their machine decides the final measurements, not us.

We reserve and set the space for them, and we follow the Legal Metrology and FSSAI requirements as we understand them. The wording itself is yours to confirm with your own advisor. We will not sign off your compliance for you, and you should be wary of any studio that offers to.

That is the point of doing it properly. We build one system, then change the colour, the name and the photograph per SKU, so the range reads as a family on the shelf instead of six unrelated packs.

Close, but a mockup is a picture on a screen. Matt film, gloss film and kraft paper each shift the colour. Ask the converter for a proof on the actual material before you commit to a full run.

Yes — that is the Box Design page. Most clients need both, and doing them together means the shipper and the retail pack actually match.

The shelf gives you four feet and one second.

Send the dieline and the product. We will take it from there.
